Pure Water for the World

Carolyn Crowley Meub of Rutland, Vermont heads Pure Water for the World, which she transformed from a small Rotary club project into an effective international charity that has brought clean water and sanitation to thousands of families in Honduras and Haiti. With a successful career in public relations and organizational management, Meub has used her professional expertise to promote hygiene education for families and schoolchildren, creating a model for sustainable clean water programs. In Honduras, under her leadership, about 20,0000 families now have access to clean drinking water. In Haiti, more than 1,200 schools have hygiene education curriculums and clean water programs. In addition to her international efforts, Carolyn and her husband, Bill, host Rotary Youth Exchange students throughout the year. Carolyn Meub has been honored by the White House as a Champion of Change for her humanitarianism and contributions to public service, aimed at improving people's lives and making a better future around the globe.
