·       Rotary Interact club is seeking an alumnus from either Georgetown or Johns Hopkins University for an interview. Potential new member Ralph Meima graciously volunteered.

·       Among the items on the agenda,

·       Potential new members to be considered.

·       Increasing club dues from $150 - $160. Some of the monies from these dues are used for donations.

·       President Sandy seized this wonderful segue opportunity to present a check to Drew Haselton representing Rescue Inc.

·       Drew spoke briefly about how Rescue Inc. recently increased their water and wilderness search and rescue capabilities since Tropical Storm Irene. Rescue Inc. is also actively seeking volunteers. Contact Drew at Rescue Inc. at,

·       President Sandy announced that this year's Changeover ceremony will be held at Kay and Turner Lewis’s home, Saturday, June 8th from 2 – 6 p.m. Incidentally this is the same day as the Strolling of the Heifers parade.

·       Ross Gibson announced that SIT and World Learning would be hosting a seminar presented by IBM. They will also be hosting past club speakers/presenters Rotary Shelter Box. Contact info http://www.worldlearning.org/ or contact Ross directly.

·       Dan Dietz announced that the noon club’s handicapped access ramp is completed and will be set into place at Glen Trailer park in West Brattleboro. Contact Dan if you would like to help out.

Student Rotarian Report,

·       Sam reported that yesterday BUHS had a Track meet at Springfield High School. Results weren’t available at press time. Sam also mentioned some of the upcoming sporting events all sporting events for the Colonels can be viewed here, http://www.buhs.k12.vt.us/sports/

·       Carrie reported that BUHS is hosting a diversity Day this Friday. Carrie also reported the Spring Play, “All in the Timing” Performance, May 3 & 4, 7:00pm BUHS Auditorium. For details on this and future events go to http://www.buhs.k12.vt.us/

·       Regarding Student Rotarians, Toni sent us all an e-mail regarding their forms and signatures. Find them, talk to them, get to know them and sign their forms. Avoid the fine.

·       Damon also bragged about his wife Catherine’s trip to Alaska for a birthday getaway.

·       Damon shared with us his son’s outstanding Track and field results.

·       Mark bragged about his daughter Devi who after 6 months of gymnastics training at Woodman Athletics has been invited to join the Woodman Team.

·       One of Jon Secrest’s daughters bragged about having the best Dad! [Great Stuff Jon!]

·       Carmen thanked all those who participated in garden clean up.

·       Ellen bragged about her husband and all the help with their daughter’s move to D.C.

·       Jill bragged about the March of Dimes, March for Babies event where the retreat team raised over $400.

·       Peter bragged for the Norwich Cadets and The No. 1 Norwich University men's lacrosse team to win the program's first-ever Great Northeast Athletic Conference Championship by a score of 9-7 on Saturday afternoon at Howard Field.

·       With the win, the Cadets complete a flawless 12-0 season against GNAC opponents and improve to 12-3 overall.  With the championship win, Norwich seals the automatic-bid to the 2013 NCAA Tournament.  It will mark the first NCAA appearance for the program.

·       In other News Kevin Yager bragged that the Castleton men's lacrosse team ran its win streak to eight games with a 16-9 non-conference victory over Norwich on Monday afternoon.

·       Sandy mentioned that last week’s speaker, Rebecca Salem, Director of Development for Windham Child Care Association, sent us a Thank You note.

·       Sandy also bragged about his daughter’s 13th Birthday celebration.

·       Dan Bragged for Tristam, the one-man ditch digging crew and his work on a Rotary project this weekend.

·       Dan also shared with us the story of his trip to New Jersey for his wife’s grandmother’s funeral. She was with us for 92 years.

·       Upon return from New Jersey Dan and his family celebrated their daughter’s 10th birthday.

·       Today’s guest speaker was our very own Ross Gibson, who offered us insights into the world of Human Resources. They don’t just sit around telling jokes.
