Greetings Sunrise, here are the Sept 2 highlights.

  • Linda about the charity quiz, next Wed (Sept 10), 6:15, at Ramunto’s, Exit 3
  • Sadie is gathering speakers, please let her know your ideas, and please respond to her emails
  • Toni invites participants, walkers or sponsors, for Team Steve, to walk for Steven Steidel as part of the Walk To End Alzheimer’s, Sept. 14; go to the Alzheimer Association website for more
  • Jason holds high the raffle jar, showing us it’s low and there are only 3 ½ weeks to go; there are plenty of posters thanks to Shawna
  • Jill announces the Wellness in Windham health festival at the Retreat on Sept 20
  • Carmen invites us to the 2014 United Way Day of Caring, Sept 6, 8 to noon, go to volunteer@unitedwaywindham.org
  • Sandy: board meeting Thursday morning
  • Dan: Touch-A-Truck this Saturday (6th), with Dan as the go-to guy with “Ask The Expert” and Ross as the newly appointed/elected/dragooned chef

Brags

  • Dan passed every certification exam for ASE, Automobile Service Excellence
  • Jason bragged for Dan
  • Gordon has achieved Senior Financial Planning status as CHFC, and also a brag for his son Matthew’s cardboard arcade and donation of portion of proceeds to the homeless shelter
  • Linda took care of her 20-month old granddaughter all weekend and as a consequence her butt was wore out
  • Jennifer brags about the Brattleboro School of Dance terrific new admin assistant, Alison Fonsby (sp?) and an open house at the studio this Friday, 5 to 8 pm
  • Turner attended his 4th and final bluegrass festival for the year
  • Todd was taught bass by a nuclear physicist
  • Will’s son is enjoying great success as a storyboard artist for movies, notably an upcoming Batman sequel; also, a brag for his dog that eats chickens

Birthdays:  Tristan and Allie.  The choir was smooth and sexy, as usual.

Cards: Ten of spades wins, everyone else a loser

Bowl of Life:  Jennifer’s very unfortunate fall from a piano and sliced tongue

Speaker:  Ross came on as a substitute and roused us all with a presentation on themes of success: Be Excellent At Anything, by Tony Schwartz; with a group exercise on body, heart, mind and spirit.
