From Dreams to Reality
In 2016 two Rotarians from both Brattleboro Rotary clubs spoke about their dream of designing and building a disc golf course to provide free access to a wonderful sport. Thanks to great partnerships with the Brattleboro Recreation and Parks Department, Brattleboro Noontime and Sunrise Rotary Clubs, and many local disc golf enthusiasts, we all were able to build a fantastic 18-hole, PDGA rated course with turf tees in Living Memorial Park in Brattleboro, Vermont. Over the course of two summers with hundreds of volunteer hours and multiple grants, the 18-hole course was completed.

In the fall of 2016 we also began a joint Rotary club venture with the Rotary Disc Golf Tournament. 8 Years later this tournament has turned into a fun-filled weekend. The "Chuck for Charity" Team Scramble is played on Saturday and the PDGA Southern Vermont Disc Golf Championship Tournament is on Sunday. Since the tournament weekend began, we raised over $50,000, had over 500 disc golf players competing, and had many, many Rotary and Southern Vermont Disc Association volunteers run the event. For more information and fun video about the tournament please visit here: www.brattleborodiscgolf.com.
